Fractal Robot



This machine requires tooling and software to perform useful work. With more advanced versions of such machines, it will be possible to build a bridge in a day, a housing estate in a week, a space ship in hours,... and so on. This is called Digital Matter Control and it is implemented here with machines called Fractal Robots. Fractal robot is a new kind of robot made from motorized cubic bricks that move under computer control. These cubic motorized bricks can be programmed to move and shuffle themselves to change shape to make objects likes a house potentially in a few seconds because of their motorized internal mechanisms. It is very much like kids playing with Lego bricks making a toy house by snapping together plastic bricks - except a computer performs the shuffling operation.

 This machine can have additional electro mechanical tools fitted that almost anything can be carried on top of T-shaped carrier girders including glass panels, rolled sheet material, tooling carousel, work parts and pipes. Work parts are shipped to the assembly point and then robot arms or custom tools built into fractal robots perform the final assembly operation. Sheets of rolled up sheets of materials can be wrapped around hangar sized structures to make walls technology and roof.  Pipes networks can be laid by the cubes. The T-section can be tooled to carry pipes which are then shuffled into the assembly point where further robots attach the pipe to a connector or to more pipes with 100% automation. Joints for pipes and welding, tools are carried inside cubes as fractal tools.

Such machines will be able to lay down pipes or dismantle them in complex nuclear reactor facilities where access is impossibly difficult. The fractally smaller machines reach into nooks and crannies with smaller cubes, tools and work pieces. Using such fractal machines and tooling, 100% assembly and / or repair systems is possible for complex pipe system. Uses iclude the oil industry, chemical industry, nuclear, and construction.

After pipes, the next and most difficult operation is the laying of cables, wires and hoses. Fractal robots with a pair of fingers for each size of cube can pick up and articulate wires through complex contours and connect them up with specialised terminating tools with 100% automation. Smaller fractal robots and fractal fingers handle smaller cables until all cabling operations is complete.




Medical Nanorobots


      Nano robots are nano devices that will be used for the purpose of maintaining and protecting the human  body against pathogens. They will have a diameter of about 0.5 to 3 microns and will be constructed out of parts with dimensions in the range of 1 to 100 nano meters. The main element used will be carbon in the form of diamond fullerene nano composites because of the strength and chemical threatness of these forms. Many other light elements such as oxygen and nitrogen can be used for special purposes. To avoid being attacked by the host's immune system, the best choice for the exterior coating is a passive diamond coating. The smoother and more flawless the coating, the less the reaction from the body's immune system. Such devices have been designed in recent years but no working model has been built so far.

The powering of the nanorobots can be done by metabolising local glucose and oxygen for energy. In a clinical environment, another option would be externally supplied acoustic energy. Other sources of energy within the body can also be used to supply the necessary energy for the devices. They will have simple on board computers capable of performing around 1000 or fewer computations per second. This is because their computing needs are simple. Communication with the device can be achieved by broadcast-type acoustic signalling.

A navigational network may be installed in the body, with station keeping navigational elements providing high positional accuracy to all nanorobots that interrogate them, wanting to know their location. This will enable the physician to keep track of the various devices in the body. These nanorobots will be able to distinguish between different cell types by checking their surface antigens. This is accomplished by the use of chemo tactic sensors keyed to the specific antigens on the target cells. When the task of the nano robots is completed, they can be retrieved by allowing them to exfuse themselves via the usual human excretory channels. They can also be removed by active scavenger systems. This feature is design-dependent.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION:

Some possible applications using nano robots are as follows:
1.   To cure skin diseases, a cream containing nano robots may be used. It could remove the right amount of dead skin, remove excess oils, and missing oils, apply the right amounts of natural moisturizing compounds, and even achieve the elusive goal of 'deep pore cleaning'by actually reaching down into pores and cleaning them out. The cream could be a smart material with smooth-on, peal-off convenience.
2.    A mouthwash full of smart nano machines could identify and destroy pathogenic bacteria while allowing the harmless flora of the mouth to flourish in a healthy ecosystem. Further, the devices would identify particles of food, plaque, or tartar, and lift them from teeth to be rinsed away. Being suspended in liquid and able to swim about, devices would be able to reach surfaces beyond reach of toothbrush bristles or the fibers of floss As short-lifetime medical nano devices  they could be built to last only a few minutes in the body before falling apart into materials of the sort found in foods (such as fiber).
3.    Medical nano devices could augment the immune system by finding and diabling unwanted bacteria        and viruses. When an invader is identified, it can be punctured, leetinh its contents spill out and ending its effectiveness. If the contents were known to be hazardous by themselves, then the immune machine could hold on to it long enough to dismantle it more completely.
4.    Devices working in the blood stream could nibble away at arteriosclerotic deposits, widening the affected blood vessels. Cell herding devices could restore artery walls and artery linings to health, by ensuring that the right cells and supporting structures are in the right places. This would prevent most heart attacks.

Skype 3 D hologram call


      

     Researchers have created Star Trek-likehuman-sclae 3 D video conferencing pod that allows people in different locations to communicate as if they are standing in front of each other.

"Why Skype when you can talk to a life-size 3 D video holographic image of another person", asks Professor Roel Vertegaal director of the Human Media Lab at the Queen's University, Canada, and the project leader. The technology developed by Vertegaal and his team is called TeleHuman and looks like something from the star trek holodeck, according to a Queen's statement.

Two people simply stand in front of their own life-size cylindrical pods and can talk to 3 D hologram like images of each other. Cameras capture and track 3D video and convert into the life-size image. Since the 3D video image is visible 360 degree around the pod, the person can walk around it to see the other person's idea or back.

While thetechnology may seem like it comes from a galaxy far, far away, it's not as complicated as most would think. Vertegaal and his team used mostly existing hardware-including a 3D projector, a 1.8 meter-tall translucent acrylic cylinder and a convex mirror. Although holographic video conferencing very futuristic, Vertegaal and his team say they were able to put it together with existing technology.

"We basically stitched together a bunch of  Kinect,"said Vertegaal in an interview with The Times,"but it was relatively complicated to get them all to work together."
In a video about the project, the researchers explain that the pod has six Microsoft Kinect sensors at the top of the display that capture 3D images as a person walks around the pod, and a 3D projector in the cylindrical base of the pod creates the holographic effect.
It's clunky, and it's expensive, but it's still cool.

Nokia Morph Concept


    Morph is a concept that demonstrates how future mobile devices might be stretchable and flexible, allowing the user to transform their mobile device into radically different shapes. It demonstrates the ultimate functionality that nanotechnology might be capable of delivering: flexible materials, transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces.

Launched alongside The Museum of Modern Art "Design and The Elastic Mind" exhibition, the Morph Concept device is s bridge between highly advanced technologies and their potential benefits to end-users. This device concept showcases some revolutionary leaps being explored by Nokia Research Center (NRC) in collaboration with the Cambridge Nano science Center (United Kingdom)- nano scale technologies that will potentially create a world of radically different devices that open up an entirely new spectrum of possibilities.




Morph concept technologies might create fantastic opportunities for mobile devices:

  •  Newly-enabled flexible and transparent materials blend more seamlessly with the way we live
  •  Devices become self cleaning and self -preserving
  •  Transparent electronics offering an entirely new aesthetic dimension
  •  Built-in solar absorption might charge a device, whilst batteries become smaller,longer lasting and faster to charge
  •  Integrated sensors might allow us to learn more about the environment around us, empowering us to make better choices

In addition to the advances above, the integrated electronics shown in the Morph Concept could cost less and include more functionality in a much smaller space, even as interfaces are simplified and usability is enhanced. All of these new capabilities will unleash new applications and services that will allow us to communicate and interact in unprecedented ways

Elements of Morph might be available to integrate handheld devices within 7 years, though initially only at the High-end. However, nanotechnology may one day lead to low cost manufacturing solutions, and offers the possibility of integrating complex functionality at a lower price.

The Sixth Sense Technology

Sixth sense will revolutionize the world by empowering every individual with the  ultimate source of information through seamless connectivity to the web. It will change the way we see the world and connect to things. 



Imagine we can make a call just by extending our hand in front of the projector and the numbers will appear to click. Want to know the time? Just draw a circle on the wrist and the watch will appear. Take a photo by just make a square with fingers, highlighting what want to frame, and the system will make the photo which can later organize the others using own hands in the air. 


Pranav Mistry, a PhD student in the fluid interfaces creation of Sixth Sense. He also released this technology as open source. The Sixth Sense prototype is composed of a  pocket projector, a mirror and a camera. the hardware components are coupled in a pendant-like mobile wearable device. Both the projector and the camera are connected to the mobile computing device. We can consider it as a blend of the computer and the cellphone. It works as a web cam captures and recognizes an object in view and tracks the user's hand gestures and sends the data to the smartphones. Color makers at the tip of user's fingers helps the web cam recognizes gestures. Than the smart phone handles the connection to the internet. The smartphone acts as a processor here. A tiny LED projector displays data sent by the smartphone on any surface in view object, wall, or person.

It is a portable device as it can hang around a person's neck very easily thereby turning the person into a moving computer. The current prototype system costs approximate $350 to build. The true power of Sixth Sense lies on its potential in connecting the real life circumstances almost immediately to the internet which gives all the relevant information to the user and allows us to make smarter choices. the idea is that Sixth Sense tries to determine not only what someone is interacting with, but also how he or she is interacting with it.

 Sixth Sense will grab real time information about your flight and display it over the ticket. For  book lovers it is a blessing. Open any book and you will find the Amazon ratings of the book.
